Selous Game Reserve is Africa’s largest and oldest game reserve is one of its most scenic wildlife destinations. The Selous’s beauty of the park is matched by the quality of a safari, with its widest diversity of safari activities ranging from a romantic boat safari along the great Rufiji river, to the walking and vehicular game drive in the park’s thriving wildlife areas.

Day 1: Flight from Zanzibar or Dar to Selous Game Reserve & Boat Safari
Upon arrival at Zanzibar or Dar Es Salaam Airport, you’ll take a morning flight to Selous Game Reserve ( Nyerere National Park). We can also provide return transfers from your hotel/ apartment in Zanzibar or Dar Es Salaam to the airport. Once you arrive at Mtemere Airstrip in Selous at around 09h30, you will be met by our tour guide who will transfer you for check-in at the Selous Kinga Lodge before lunch. Later you leave for a romantic sunset Boat Safari along the Great Rufiji River. Awesome views of hippos growling, crocodiles basking on the banks and the abundant birdlife will spice up your spectacular dusk!

Day 2: Full Day Game Drive in the vast Selous Game Reserve
After a full breakfast, you will drive into the vast Selous Game Reserve to explore the diverse wildlife and undisturbed nature for a full day. Countless elephants and buffaloes, pride of lions, giraffes, zebras and impalas are quite common. Selous is also quite famous for having many African wild dogs. Enjoy a tasty picnic lunch break from a safe vantage point while taking in the beautiful scenery and keeping an eye out for wildlife in their natural habitat.

Day 3: Dawn Walking Safari & Flight to Zanzibar or Dar
After an early morning cup of tea/coffee, you’ll depart the lodge and make your way into the reserve for a Walking Safari accompanied by an armed ranger. The park has a variety of vegetation zones, ranging from dense thickets to open wooded grasslands. After this awesome Walking Safari, you will be transferred back to the lodge for a full English/ Continental breakfast. You will have ample time for check-out and transfer to Mtemere Airstrip for your scheduled flight at around 10h30 to Zanzibar or Dar es Salaam Airport. We will then provide the transfer from the airport to your hotel/apartment.
